„Migrant integration support in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship” project carried out by Caritas Poland is co-financed by the National Program of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and state budget.

Project execution period: 01.05.2020 – 31.05.2021

The main aim of the project is to provide complete support to at least 100 citizens of third countries currently residing in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship as well as improve competencies that facilitate their integration.

Specific aims of the project relate to:

1. Availability of the information and advisory centre in Olsztyn for citizens of third countries.

2. Improvement of the social and living situation of migrants dealing with temporary difficulties.

3. Improvement of migrants’ communication competencies and reinforcement of integration through participation in Polish language courses with elements of history and Polish culture.

4. Development of foreigners’ competencies connected with rights and duties of citizens, labour and labour market laws, values and laws applicable in Poland, living conditions as well as
improvement of skills related to dealing with day-to-day situations through adaptive courses and informing beneficiaries of the project about the local labour market as part of career advice.

5. Improvement of foreigners’ access to specialist legal advice related to residence registration as well as administrative and legal matters.

6. Reinforcement of the integration process of foreign children through participation in integration camps and periodic meetings under the “Meetings with culture” initiative.

7. Support of the education process to raise competencies of foreign children to the level of their Polish peers through compensation classes and lessons at the after-school club as well as participation in extracurricular activities.

8. Increase of foreigners’ competencies including job seeking skills, planning and advancing their professional careers, developing entrepreneurial attitudes.

9. Increase of professional activity and self-reliance through enhancement of computer and Internet skills.

10. Provision of psychological support for third country citizens in difficult situations.

11. Maintenance of a freely available Caritas Poland subsite for foreigners in the following languages: Polish, English, Russian and Ukrainian.

12. Effective integration through events, workshops and multicultural events. Creation of a neutral platform for discovering differences and similarities between migrants and the host society; dialogue support and increase of tolerance between the host society and foreigners.

13. Presentation of positive aspects of migration as a process that enriches the lives of local communities, thus stimulating integration of third country citizens residing in the Warmian-
Masurian Voivodeship.

14. Provision of specialist support for personnel working with third country citizens and issuing
recommendations about the directions of integration activities.

Our team consists of specialists and experts, including an integration advisor, a cultural consultant, a career advisor, an after-school club tutor, a specialist for studies, preparation of publications, content-related and educational materials, a psychologist and a lawyer.
