30.08.2021 r.: Meeting with employers
Another from the two planned meetings with employers took place on 25 August of this year. It was attended by forty employers from different economic sectors.
Matters related to the employment of foreigners are becoming very popular, because more and more Polish employers open the doors of their companies to employees arriving in Poland to earn money.
The legalisation of residence and the employment of a migrant are sometimes related to many steps, which have to be taken carefully and according to the deadlines set by government offices. Employment is a truly important matter for many foreigners, because it is connected to the legalization of their residence in the Republic of Poland. During their long stays in Poland, which is legally secured by employment, foreigners decide to bring their families to Poland more and more frequently. Therefore, having a job is also an opportunity to legalize their residence, and the dependence of two such important spheres results in a serious attitude of foreigners not only to the work that they currently perform, but also to the development and improvement of their qualifications.
More and more Polish employers seek relevant information in order to take the best care of their foreign employees or to prepare themselves for employing a foreigner.
As part of project activities, updated information was given to all interested Polish employers or representatives of Polish companies. Moreover, two meetings were held to provide information, share knowledge and experience, as well as to encourage openness towards potential foreign employees.
Two topics, law and employment legalisation, were taken up during the meeting. The participants had an opportunity to learn about the rules established for the employment of migrants thanks to speeches given by experts in this field. Mr Wojciech Krztoń, the manager of the Office for Judicial Decisions and Foreigners at the Labour Office in Olsztyn presented the rules for issuing declarations on entrusting work to a foreigner and permissions for seasonal work. The meeting also benefited from the presence of the representatives of the local division of the Border Guard and lawyer Mr Karol Kakowski – a specialist on legalisation of foreigners’ residence and legal matters related to the employment of foreigners.
