The project “Support system for foreigners residing in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship in the scope of adaptation and social integration” is co-financed under the National Programme of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and the state budget. The project is carried out by the Governor (Voivode) of Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship – the Leader of the project, and Caritas Polska, the Partner of the project.

Prioject implementation period: 01 April 2018 – 31 March 2020

The main objective of the project is: improvement of the standards of integration services provided to citizens of third countries in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship.

Specific objectives of the project carried out by Caritas Polska are:

  1. Establishment of an information and advisory centre which will provide help to the citizens of third countries. At the information and advisory centre the applicants will be able to receive advisory, administrative, legal, psychological and integrational support, professional counselling and social aid support.

  2. Granting social and life support to migrants (citizens of third countries) if necessary.

  3. Provision of Polish language courses with elements of the Polish history and culture at appropriate levels.

  4. Provision of adaptation courses for foreigners focused on administrative and legal issues, the notion of safety, and the rights and duties of citizens.

  5. Creation of an integration strategy for the citizens of third countries residing in the territory of the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship by means of theoretical and empirical, quantitative and qualitative research aimed at the formulation of actual needs of the migrants, institutions and other entities working with foreigners. The research results will be used to develop astrategy of integrational activities to the benefit of the citizens of third countries in the territory of the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship. .

  6. Provision of specialised training for the employees of the Department of Citizens’ and Foreigners’ Affairs, the Department of Social Policy, District Employment Agencies, Social Welfare Centres and District Family Support Centres; preparation and publication of a practical handbook for institutions and organisations working in order to integrate the citizens of third countries.

  7. Enhancement of the cooperation between institutions and organisations who work to the benefit of the citizens of third countries by establishing an effective model of cooperation between the public sector institutions and non-governmental organisations to enable economical and effective provision of support to the foreigners aimed at teaching them about their autonomy.

  8. Support for teachers with regard to work with foreign children through training aimed at the improvement of intercultural competences of the teaching staff.

  9. Improvement of the integration process of Polish children and the citizens of third countries by means of holiday inclusion camps for children from Poland and other countries.

  10. Social education aimed at increasing the awareness of the migration process and constructive social dialogue.

  11. Setting up a subpage of Caritas Polska for foreigners in Polish, English, Russian and Ukrainian, compatible with the main website created by the leader for the project “Support system for foreigners residing in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship in the scope of adaptation and social integration”
