Current information about the pandemic

The Polish government has decided to tighten the regulations related to the pandemic. They will be in force in the whole country from March 20 to April 9.
The following businesses have to put their operations on hold:

  • Hotels (except e.g. worker’s hotels and accommodation provided as part of business trips – a detailed catalogue of exceptions together with the required confirmation of business travel can be found in the ordinance);
  • Shopping centres– except e.g.: grocery stores, pharmacies and drug stores, newsagent’s stores, bookshops, pet shops and building materials stores. Hair salon, opticians, bank and laundry services will still be allowed to operate at shopping centres;
  • theatres, museums, art galleries (it’s still permitted to organize rehearsals and practice as well as online events);
  • cinemas (the screening ban applies to homes and culture centres as well);
  • swimming pools (except pools at premises of medical activity centres and for national teams);
  • sauna rooms, tanning saloons, Turkish baths, slimming salon, casinos;
  • ski slopes;
  • gyms and fitness clubs;
  • sport facilities (can be open only for professionals and without the supporters).

Due to safety reasons all students in Poland – including classes 1-3 – will have online lessons.
