02.06.2021: Encounters with culture

Many project activities have been addressed to younger foreigners, who had an opportunity to benefit from, i.e., subsidy for extracurricular classes – language, music, art etc.

Funds have also been intended for subsidizing private tutoring, which allows foreign children to even the educational odds.

On Children’s day, fifty children – project participants – had a chance to see a performance organized as part of “Encounters with culture.” In order to provide safety to the children, they watched the performance online.

The children watched the performance “How much does an apple weigh on Mars?” on Sunday, May 30, at suitable time between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. To watch the performance children had to use a link shared among authorized persons, which led to a video on the YouTube channel of the Baj Theatre.

The description of the performance attracted both the younger and older children, because it offered them a perspective of discovering the technology behind spaceships, discussed mysterious dreams of finding yourself to the Moon or picking a start from the sky…

The audience, led by the main protagonist Michał Kwazar, became students of a very unique school for future astronauts, where they learnt about the history of space travel, rules of thermodynamics, black holes and thanks to the knowledge about the geography of stars they learnt to navigate in space. Michał was fascinated by space, rockets, astronauts, he dreamt about travelling to Mars. While accompanying the protagonist, the audience was also exploring the depths of space and topics related to it. During the performance, the young foreigners embarked on a space journey not only thanks to the great performance of the actors, but also by using their own imagination.

The performance was a great chance to had fun as well as to encounter culture. We’d like to wish all children, both younger and older, joy and happiness!
